WE WILL ALWAYS STAY BANGKOK

This is our fourth (or fifth) arrival in Bangkok, and as in the previous ones, except the first one, we took it very calmly. The atmosphere of Kao San Road and Rambuttri Road invite it. We spend the dead hours sitting in one of the street bars watching the rarest types and types in the world. If you ever thought of doing dreadlocks, why not display them here? And what about the most thrown clothes in your closet? Here nobody will look at you badly, you will simply be one more ... Maybe we, with our normality, were the rarest of all!

Sometimes we have the feeling that hell has to be something similar to this, with the suffocating heat, Charon without a shirt wandering the streets, prostitutes with their customers wherever you look, posters offering you alcohol at ridiculous prices, barbecues lit on both sides from the street ... but the atmosphere has something that attracts you like a magnet, and we love Bangkok!

On one of our nights in the light of the lamps we met an 18-year-old Korean boy (20 years in Korea: S) who was spending his last days of "freedom" in Thailand before returning to his country to fulfill his obligation and enter the army for the next two years. I was quite terrified, after hearing the stories of some killings and suicides that occur there, we understand perfectly. He says there is no way to get rid of this mili, during which he has few permits to go see his family. Hopefully time goes by very quickly for him and he can continue with his studies.

We made the first visit to this city on the summer trip of 2010, it was this time when we took the opportunity to see one of the many cultural attractions. We put some photos of that trip that was the prelude to what would happen a year later.

USEFUL INFO

Accommodation: On Rambutri Street (next to Kaoh San Road) there are several cheap GHs, with shared bathrooms. We pay 220 baths per night

Cheap travel agency: We bought two night buses with PATTAMA, in Rambutri itself, in the parallel part to Kao San. The prices are cheaper than the rest, and you can even tighten more.

Trick to get around Bangkok: With the Tuc Tuc driver you can negotiate to make one or several stops along the way to take you to a tailor or travel agency where you have commission. It is not necessary to buy anything, just do 10 minutes the paripé and go! You can greatly reduce the price of transport, even get it free!
