This trip to Iceland in 14 days will take us to visit one of the countries that we most wanted to reach for years.
The decision of this trip led us to consider a feasible itinerary for 14 days and we opted for a circular route with rental car, entering the most inaccessible places with tours that we will do through agencies.
We start the tour in the Golden Circle, visiting places like Pingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss ... The next day we will make our first tour to reach Landmannalaugar, one of the most incredible landscapes of the Land of Fire and Ice.
From here we will follow the route to places like Seljalandsfoss, Gljúfurárfoss, Eyjafjallajökull, Vik i Myrdal, Myrdalssandur ...
In this area we will have the help of a tour where we will "hang the crampons" and it will be to trek through the Mýrdalsjökull glacier.
We will continue in the area knowing Fjaðrárgljúfur, Kirkjubæjarklaustur to finish in the Skaftafell area.
We will continue the trip in the Skaftafell Park, seeing the Svartifoss Waterfall and continuing towards Lake Fjarsárlón and Jökulsárlón.
We will continue to know places like Djúpivogur, Berufjörður, Egilsstaðir, Seydisfjordur, Egilsstaðir, Detifoss, Hafragilsfoss, Selfoss, Vesturdalur, Ásbyrgi, until we reach the Myvatn area, where we return to the tour to get into the caldera of the Ask volcano.
Then we will travel to Húsavík where we will be lucky to be able to navigate in search of whales, an experience that we will live for the first time.
The last days of the trip will be devoted to visit places like Krafla, Leirhnjukur, Hverarönd, Jardbodin við Mývatn, Dimmuborgi, Höfði, Stakhólstjörn, Godafoss Waterfall, Akureyri, Hólar, Glaumbær, Borgarvirki, Hvítserkur, Illugastaðir, Nedra-Vatnshorn in Hunathing, Helgafell Church , Berserkjahraun, Grundarfjörður, Kirkjufell, Ólafsvík, Hellissandur, Saxhóll, Hellnar, Arnarstapi, Búðaklettur, Borgarnes, Reykholt, Hraunfossar, Deildartunguhver and to finish this route for 14 days and before returning to the Blue Lagoon, relax .
The best time for a trip to Iceland includes the months of June, July and August, so if we want to have this first contact we have to adjust dates in these months.
Although traveling in high season also has its drawbacks. We will find the high occupancy in the accommodation, price increase and above all, the need to book in advance if we do not want to pay an exorbitant price or run out of seats both on flights, accommodation, car ... etc.
